Gate plate structure and usage characteristics

Double-sided gate plates are used, and the upper and lower sides of the gate plates are symmetrical. For drilling tools of different sizes, only the rubber sealing half ring and the gate plate pressure block need to be replaced. The rest of the parts can be interchanged universally. The gate plate used on one side cannot be flipped for use. The shearing gate can cut off the drilling tools at the wellhead and fully seal the wellhead. Variable diameter gate plates are suitable for sealing drill tools and casing of different sizes within a certain range.

Characteristics of gate plate sealing

The floating of the gate plate, the automatic sand cleaning of the gate plate and the well pressure auxiliary sealing, the automatic centering of the gate plate and the self-advancing function of the gate plate. For the gate plate blowout preventer to seal the wellhead effectively, four seals must be in effect simultaneously, namely: the sealing of the top of the gate plate without the shell, the sealing of the front end of the gate plate with the pipe, the sealing of the shell with the side door, and the sealing of the piston rod with the side door.

Gate locking device

The manual locking device closes or locks the gate plate by manually rotating the handwheel. When in use, it should be noted that the manual locking device is only used to close the gate plate and must not be opened. After use, to open the gate plate, the manual locking device must first be reset and unlocked, and then the gate plate can be opened hydraulically.
